Building and maintaining expertly tailored, tax efficient portfolios for families of wealth is what we do. Achieving this requires many things, but it comes down to this: sustained success requires knowledge, experience, and industry. Passive management (buy and bury) has little chance of success. Charles Fish Investments, Inc. (CFI) believes that only active management with vigilance and hard work will produce superior structure, superior quality, and superior performance.
CFI’s clients have benefited from this philosophy since the Company's founding in 1984. After fourteen years in the securities business, founder Charles “Skip” Fish recognized that clients needed individually tailored portfolios for their bond assets. They also needed the expertise and market skills of municipal bond traders and analysts in an arrangement that would align the interests of the client and adviser. Skip believed that the best means of securing these was to found a registered investment management firm.
We are extremely conservative.
We are extremely aggressive.
Although these statements seem to contradict one another, they are in fact complimentary. We want the best of both worlds: portfolios that mitigate risk while providing competitive returns. At CFI, we believe it is not necessary to accept greater risk in order to achieve higher rewards. Instead it requires in-depth research, consultation with the right specialists, and securing accurate first hand information. Wise decisions are informed decisions. Our philosophy, therefore, is to apply that knowledge to each and every portfolio with the intensity required to secure the best results.
CFI is dedicated to the task of securing for each individual account the best possible after-tax performance net of fees. We actively manage tailored portfolios in strict adherence to the strategic objectives of each client. It is our responsibility to employ the most suitable fixed income assets and strategies in a manner most effective for every account. It is our duty to devote the resources, intensity, and vigilance necessary in an effort to provide our clients with consistent, superior results.
The fundamental principle on which CFI was founded is that the best interest of the client comes first. Always. You will receive personalized service with the utmost discretion. Our staff is experienced at coordinating with accountants, estate lawyers, planners, and consultants to insure effective asset/liability management. You are entitled to peace of mind. We deliver that peace of mind by building your confidence in our ability to apply our skills and resources to carry out strategies best suited to achieve your goals.
Our portfolio managers have decades of experience in trading, sales, credit research, underwriting, compliance, and operations. Each continues to invest the time required to maintain the necessary skills and alliances with an extensive network of bond specialists vital to our mission. Our commitment to learning is part of our corporate culture. Please call our office at 949-296-3970 to meet the team or request our SEC disclosure form, ADV Part 2A. An investment pyramid should truly reflect a client’s goals, objectives, time horizons, and risk profile. When it does, it will be unique, one of a kind, and when coupled with open client communication, “tailored.”
